Who's to know what will happen tomorrow, or if we will be here to enjoy or suffer through it. Only God can see what is to come. But we will continue in the full assurance that His plan is perfect.
"I know the thoughts that I think toward you,' saith the Lord. 'Thoughts of peace and not of evil, to bring you an expected end; the end desired." Jeremiah 29:11
To update you, this new policy change means that instead of one agency being able to match a waiting child with a family, and therefore requiring that you be a client with that agency to complete your adoption. Every participating agency can match any of the waiting children. What does this mean for us? A greater number of children are available to a greater number of families. I have been praying for the reigning authorities is China for sometime. As God gave the wisdom to see that change first needed to come from there, and He has heard my prayers, and is moving. We continue to pray over the orphanage authorities hearts, for their desire to prepare a file for little one's adoption.
Once again, praise Him through whom all blessings flow....

A glimpse of unconditional love
I was thinking...how beautiful it is when God gives you a glimpse of his unconditional love for us. I was thinking how my love for "Little One" is God's gift to me. A gift of understanding a little more of the depths of love. The way I can describe it is this: I saw a child, imperfect and full of need, and God's Spirit filled me with such love for this child, that I only see how precious and beautiful she has been made. This is a hard thing, for me, and I imagine many people. Because, don't we all look at the world with criticizing eyes? She's mean, He's funny looking, this job doesn't pay enough, my house is too small. Whateva?! Anyways, I realized today just what a gift God gave me when I first saw precious "Little One". Just how he's grown me in this part of the process. And I love Him for this, because I see people differently, and I am so glad to be changed!

Something Remarkable
A child was born on a day that will not be known, to a woman she will never meet, in a place we have yet to go. A beautiful, precious being saved by the grace of God. Born in such a poor part of this world that even the orphanage did not have enough to feed her. And so it was told, "do not take her, she will not make it".
But God sent a worker to her who insisted in taking her, along with the child she came for. So began a new journey of finding "Little One". Within a week, we discovered her, in her new home and learned of her fragile state. We began to pray for her and the love grew from the moment I saw her.
It was only a matter of days of prayer over "Little One", when the Spirit moved me in a way I've rarely known. When God speaks, we must listen. Oh don't get me wrong, I certainly had doubts and was quite frightened at what He asked. But I soon embraced His direction and began to pursue the possibility of adopting her.
It is not an easy task. Everyone would say "it is impossible". She is from China, and according to China she does not exist. If she passed away today, it would be as if she had never been born. (to China) To us, it is a different story. China says "you cannot adopt a child you have identified", We must choose them for you. China says, there are thousands of Children in hundreds of orphanages. They can be referred to dozens of countries with hundreds of agencies, who have thousands of parents waiting. Our agency says, even if she was referred to them, "there are hundreds of family waiting before you".
What are those odds? Odds don't really matter when it is in God's plan, do they? Can China really get in the way? Can our agency really get in the way? Can the orphanage really get in the way? We will ask God to lead us, and for now....He had led us to prepare for her. We are learning about her condition and preparing our hearts and home (and paperwork) to be ready for the possibilities of what God has in store.
Today "Little One" is in the Hospital. She was born with a major birth defect. One that usually has immediate surgery performed at birth. One that can paralyze or cause death from severe infection. But she had no one to provide for her. God, though. He provides; He cares for the orphan. Nearly 7 months old, she received surgery 2 days ago. God moved in the hearts of many, many people from all over the world to send funds for this precious little one. He moved so deeply; so beyond the measure, that he provided 8000 dollars more than was need. (*This awesome provision has already saved the lives of two other orphans in her home who are currently hospitalized with RSV. In China, they stand waiting in the ER's for the cash in hand before they begin to work on you)
We await the news of her recovery. We know that "it was successful"! We await to see how God will knit her family together. Praise Him through whom all blessings flow!
